Costa Rica Mission
Our missionaries to Costa Rica are Reverend Bill and Aletha Green. Aletha has a teaching degree from Dordt college, and Bill received his M.Div from Westminster Seminary in California, and a Th.M. from Calvin Seminary in New Testament. Together, they have worked in diverse areas of church planning since 1985. They helped develop two congregations in San Jose, Costa Rica; and are presently planting a third church. They also helped establish the Tepeyac Christian School that provides both grade and high school curricula. Aletha has been the principal of the school for many years. Since 1987, Bill has been the executive secretary for the World Reformed Fellowship in Latin American ('CLIR' in Spanish.) Called and sent by the Bethany United Reformed Church in Wyoming, MI, Bill presently coordinates the leadership training and publication efforts of the Fellowship (CLIR), which has members from almost every Spanish speaking country in Latin America. Bill and Aletha have four children: two in college, one in the U.S. Air Force, and another working in Costa Rica. Please see Reformed Missions in Latin America for more information.
Punjab Mission
In February 2004 God opened the door for Rev. Joghinda Gangar and his brother, Rev. Kuldip Gangar to return to their village in Punjab, India after a 43-year absence. God had already prepared the way through their aunt who had been going back for a number of years and sharing the gospel. In February 2004, three tent-style evangelistic meetings were conducted and attended by an average of 250-300 people. The people were receptive to the preaching of the gospel. They were so glad that the brothers had not forgotten their past, but had returned to preach the gospel. So far, three Punjab Mission trips have been made. Both brothers spent three weeks preaching and teaching in Punjab in 2004. Rev. Joghinda Gangar returned for three weeks in February, 2005 and again in February, 2006.
Davao Covenant Reformed Church
In January of 1999, Nollie and Evelyn Malabuyo, missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators, were unable to find a truly reformed and covenantal church in Davao City, Phillipines. They started a home bible study series on the reformed doctrines of grace. The study grew and eventually became a church which is now under the leadership of Filipino nationals. today's churches have departed from scriptural teachings to accommodate modern social trends. Please see Davao Covenant Reformed Church for more information.
